Our studio
Hollywood Dance has been a fixture in the NE Portland Hollywood neighborhood for over 30 years.
Our staff has touched the lives of hundreds of children, teens, and adults through the power of dance. We provide lessons for recreational dancers as well as pre-professional training for those wishing to pursue a career in the arts.
Our commitment
We offer classes for ages 3 years and up in Pre-Ballet & Tap Combo, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Contemporary.
As a smaller studio we remain committed to providing personalized attention. We are about our students, not our numbers. When you become a part of our studio, you become a part of our family. You will be welcomed by our staff, our dancers, and their families, whether you are taking 1 class per week or many.
We work to provide a well-rounded dance education that develops the dancer’s technical skills and performance qualities. Our classes, curriculum, performances, and costumes promise to be family-friendly and always age-appropriate.
We are dedicated to creating an atmosphere where people of all ages and levels can find joy though the dance experience.

Small Steps: Pre-Ballet & Tap Combo
A specially designed program for 3 to 6 year olds introducing simple dance steps and movements with the feeling of ballet/tap while protecting their young muscles, bones, and joints.
Ballet & Pointe
Classical ballet tailored to each student’s age and ability with special attention paid to proper technique and body placement
Tap
Tap technique that develops a sense of rhythm and coordination through a variety of styles and music, including rhythm, Broadway, and contemporary.
Jazz
Traditional jazz technique combined with stretch and strengthening, to provide a well-rounded education of stylized, theatrical, contemporary and lyrical style of dance.
Contemporary
An expressive style that blends elements of jazz, lyrical and ballet. It strives to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements, focusing on self-expression and choreography.
**Student must have previous Ballet/Jazz experience as well as be enrolled in Ballet/jazz concurrently with Contemporary**
Hip Hop
The class incorporates a fusion of dance styles set to age appropriate hip hop, R&B and pop music. This class works on basic rhythm and coordination, breaking down steps to combine into fun, energetic routines.
